RULES AND REGULATIONS


GENERAL RULES

  1. The first hour of the morning session will commence after prayer which is compulsory.

  2. The students are expected to greet the lecturer with a polite ‘Good Morning’ or ‘Good Afternoon’ as the case may be on meeting them for the first time each day.

  3. Inattentiveness in class, insubordinate and rude behaviour of any kind to the lecturers will face disciplinary action.  The transfer certificate of such students will be issued to them before the end of term, after due warning.

  4. When there is no class, students should spend their time in the library.

  5. Students must treat the building, furniture and equipment with care and consideration.  Any loss or destruction will be chargeable individually or collectively.

  6. Students will carry their identity cards with them at all times.  This will be shown to authorized persons when demanded.

  7. Students are advised to consult the College Notice Board everyday.

  8. Strikes and similar demonstrations are not allowed but a respectful representation of grievances will always be looked into.

  9. No books, pamphlets or papers will be circulated by the students, nor tickets for any programme sold within the premises without the permission of the Principal.

  10. There shall be no money raised for any purpose whatsoever, or gifts made to staff members, or others, without the permission of the Principal.

  11. Students will not meet visitors in the College.  They will have their letters, money orders, and communication addressed to their home or hostels.

  12. Excursions, if any, of long or short duration, will be organized by the College Authorities only.

  13. Students are expected to adopt a modest style of dress (Salwar kameez / Jeans with long kurtas only) within the premises.  Students not conforming to this may be required at any time to leave the college.

  14. Usage of mobile phones is strictly restricted in the college building.

  15. Parents are expected to keep in touch with the staff from time to time during lunch break on Fridays.

EVERY STUDENT SHALL ABIDE BY THE RULES OF THE COLLEGE AND MUST STRIVE TO MAINTAIN DISCIPLINE IN THE COLLEGE AT ALL TIMES.

    TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS

  1. There will be two unit test and one model examination conducted by the college apart from the Bangalore University examinations.

  2. Students will be exempted from the tests / examinations only for reasons of serious illness provided their parent / guardian submits the reason for the absence to the Principal in person before the end of the examination.

  3. Students who stay away without permission will be penalized.

  4. Students resorting to unfair means during examinations will face disciplinary action.

  5. A report card on the student’s performance will be prepared at the end of every examination.  Parents / Guardians are expected to closely monitor the progress of their child / ward and the attendance put in by them.

Attendance

  1. Attendance registers will be maintained by the lecturers and they will take attendance for each hour.

  2. Students are expected to be in the classes on time.  Late-comers will not enter the class without the permission of the lecturer in charge of that class.

  3. No student may absent herself from classes without leave.  All leave applications must be addressed to the Principal and signed by the Parent / Guardian.

  4. Leave applications for reasons of illness beyond four days must be accompanied by a medical certificate.

  5. A student absenting herself for more than seven days without a leave application is liable to have her name struck off the rolls.

  6. Students are expected to attend the Value Education Classes.

  7. Absence of students on days of tests and examinations and on the first and last working day of each term will be seriously dealt with.

  8. Students are advised not to absent themselves for trivial reasons.  They are reminded that good results depend much on time spent constructively.

  9. Attendance status will be displayed on the notice board every month. 


Attendance requirement for final examinations:

Degree
Each semester shall be taken into consideration for the purpose of calculating attendance.  Students who have attendance less than 75% in each subject will not be allowed to write their final exams.

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF ATTENDANCE, AS MENTIONED ABOVE, SHALL NOT BE RECOMMENDED BY THE COLLEGE TO APPEAR FOR THE UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS.
